rochester intimate winter wedding: chelsea + pat

So many couples’ wedding plans were affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, and each chose to handle it the way that best suited them. While for most of my clients this meant rescheduling for later dates, a few of them, including Chelsea and Pat, decided to get married on their original date no matter what it looked like! I love that getting married as soon as they could was priority #1 for these two, and although the day was nothing like they originally planned for, I think it was absolutely perfect.

Chelsea got ready at her parents’ home with her family and maid of honor (whose wedding I actually shot several years ago!!) and there were a few teary moments before we even left the house! I could tell immediately what a special day it was going to be. Chelsea and Pat tied the knot surrounded by immediate family at Rochester’s St. Lawrence Church, and the ceremony was kicked off with Pat’s priceless expression as he saw his bride-to-be walking toward him down the aisle.

After the ceremony we headed to Corn Hill Landing for a few wintery portraits of the newlyweds with the Rochester skyline behind them, and I absolutely have to give these two credit for enduring the cold for these photos! I can’t really sugarcoat the weather - it was freezing, windy, and wet, but they cuddled up for warmth and I think they’d agree it was worth it for the photos! Our next and final stop was the Century Club where we popped in and out to capture the gorgeous interior staircase as well as the picturesque snow flurries that had started to fall!

This small wedding filled with big emotions was the perfect way to finish off a completely bizarre wedding season. Chelsea and Pat are extremely kind and sweet people and I consider myself extremely lucky that they chose me as their photographer! Here are some favorites from their day!
