skaneateles backyard wedding: jessica + michael

I’m so excited to share Jessica & Michael’s wedding on my blog tonight! Like every other couple who’d planned to get married in 2020, these two faced a lot of uncertainty and tough decisions when it came to their wedding, but the day turned out to be one of the most beautiful weddings I’ve ever had the honor of photographing! When they decided to stick with their original date, they had cut their guest list significantly AND change venues not once, but twice! They ended up having their ceremony and reception in the backyard of a family home, but when I say “backyard” I am not doing this spot justice. The views were stunning, and they rented a beautiful tent which was decorated with some of the most gorgeous florals and decor imaginable (Kudos to MLH Events and Gypsy Bloom Florals) ! You’d honestly never have a clue that it wasn’t their original plan - it was absolutely perfect! 

I photographed Jessica and the girls getting ready at Mirbeau Inn & Spa in Skaneateles, while my second photographer captured Michael & the guys at a nearby Airbnb. I was so excited when I heard Jess was getting ready at Mirbeau, when you step onto the grounds there you feel like you’ve been transported to the French countryside! The buildings surround a gorgeous courtyard lush with beautiful gardens and a pond; it was the perfect setting for Jess and Michael’s first look! Michael’s face when he saw his bride-to-be might’ve been my favorite moment of the day! You’ll know why when you see his reaction in the photos below - SO SWEET! 

I’m really grateful that we were able to take advantage of the picturesque scenery at both of the day’s locations thanks to the weather being perfect. And I literally mean PERFECT. Does anyone remember that randomly gorgeous 70 degree day in early November? Well, that was Jessica and Michael’s wedding day. It was all sunshine and blue skies and I could hardly believe that we got so lucky! 

Jess and Michael are an incredible couple and anyone who sees the way they look at each other and laugh with each other can instantly tell that they are meant to be. I’m so glad I got to capture their magical chemistry and this truly unforgettable celebration! Here are some of my favorites from the day!
