inn on broadway, rochester wedding: clare & drew
When you’re in the wedding business you hear a lot of ceremonies, speeches, toasts, love stories, etc. but somehow, it never gets old. Every couple is so unique that the same old phrase applied to their love takes on new meaning. I photograph all different types of wedding ceremonies, including catholic masses like Clare and Drew’s, and a pretty common reading is the Corinthians 13:4-8. Seriously, I have heard this A LOT. But there’s a reason for that - I don’t know if there are any other words that paint such a poignant picture of the type of love we should all strive for. For those of you who haven’t been at quite as many ceremonies as I have, here is one version of it: “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails.”
Beautiful right!? It was as moving as ever when it was read during Clare & Drew’s ceremony at the Holy Trinity Church, in Webster, NY. Clare and Drew exchanged their vows, rings, and first kiss in this church surrounded by family and friends happy to see them become husband and wife!
Their story began back in college, when they first met as students at SUNY Geneseo (the best college in the world)! You might remember them from their coffee shop engagement session that was on my blog earlier this year, in which I raved about Clare’s adorable outfits. I wasn’t surprised to see that she had chosen the most beautiful dress, bridesmaids dresses, shoes, jewelry – EVERYTHING, for her wedding. The hair and makeup done by Brio Salon in Pittsford was clearly another great choice judging from how stunning all the girls looked. Clare and Drew really do have impeccable taste. They chose the Inn on Broadway for their wedding reception – which is an elegant venue in downtown Rochester. You really can’t beat this place – the staff, food, and décor were all so great. The stunning cake made by Erindipity’s was a talking point of the evening, I heard at least 10 people wondering if the gorgeous flowers could possibly be edible – the answer was yes. Cake art at it’s finest! Another thing that stuck out to me at this wedding was how nice everyone was! Clare & Drew’s families and friends were all having a wonderful time celebrating the newlyweds – it was a lot of fun to photograph this event!
Clare and Drew – I’m going to try not to make this creepy but it's going to be hard.. I LOVE YOU GUYS. It has been wonderful getting to know you over these past several months and I feel lucky to have been able to capture your engagement and wedding photography. All the happiness in the world to you both!
