On a beautiful summer day in Trumansburg, NY Jackie spent the morning of her wedding with her mom and bridesmaids preparing for her big day. They had a suite in Juniper Hill Bed and Breakfast, which is the most impeccably decorated place I’ve ever seen. When you walk in you feel like you’ve stepped into both a quaint home and an art museum – the historic mansion is filled with impressionist paintings and gorgeous furniture and home décor. The vibe aligned perfectly with the style of Jackie’s stunning dress and jewelry, and I had fun photographing everything in such a beautiful environment!
I could tell that Jackie and I are kindred spirits by the number of tears she shed throughout the day. I’ve probably mentioned before that I’m a happy crier – I cry at nice gestures, I cry when I see a cute puppy, I cry at every wedding I shoot, etc. – can’t help it! Jackie teared up of pure joy several times during the morning, and when Chris arrived at the B&B for their First Look he wasn’t surprised that Jackie was already in tears when she tapped him on the shoulder and he turned to see her for the first time. His smile was off the charts when he saw his gorgeous bride!
Their ceremony and reception were at Silver Queen Farm, a small family-owned farm in Trumansburg with a giant barn that is absolutely perfect for weddings. The ceremony setup behind the barn was beautiful, as was the ceremony itself. It paid tribute to the seven years of friendship and love Jackie and Chris have spent together, through thick and thin, through a move across the country and back, and all the family and friends who have helped them along the way. They exchanged their vows, rings, and first kiss and turned to face their cheering family and friends as husband and wife!
Then it was party time! The reception was a ton of fun and this group definitely kept the dance floor packed late into the night, only taking a break to accompany the newlyweds outside to send Chinese lanterns off into the sky.
It was extremely obvious when I first met Jackie & Chris that they’re both incredibly kind and genuine people and I’ve been so excited for their wedding ever since! It exceeded all of my expectations and was such a pleasure to photograph. A huge thank you to Jackie and Chris for choosing me to play a part in it – all the happiness in the world to you both!
Enjoy the photos!
