In the wedding photography world, you constantly hear that the key to running a business that you LOVE is finding and working with your ideal clients. These are the clients who get you so excited to show up and do your job. The clients that fill you with gratitude that this is what you get to do for a living, and make you want to go above and beyond to make sure they are so happy with the final product and experience you give them.
They’re your ideal clients because they love your work, value your vision, and trust in your skills and creativity. They’re people who you instantly click with, and conversation comes easily because you just seem to get each other. Maybe its because of interests or values we share. Maybe they also love and live in Rochester, NY. Or they love to try new restaurants, to travel and explore their own city and the rest of the world as well! Who cherish their relationships with the people they love above all else, and always make spending time with friends and family a top priority. Maybe they also enjoy staying active and spending time outside. They might have a creative side, or at least an appreciation for art and photography. They’re laid back and relaxed, but also punctual and pay attention to the little details like a great color palette!
By no means do clients have to be all of the above for it to be a great fit, but I do think that description could fit Katherine and Andy pretty well and I am SO THANKFUL that such incredible couples like these two find and hire me. As soon as I heard they first met playing kickball in Rochester (which used to be my favorite way to spend Thursday nights!) I could tell we had a lot in common, and the more I got to know them the more excited I became to work with them! I knew their wedding would have some truly lovely details when I got to peak into their beautifully styled home at the beginning of their engagement session last year and saw how much love and thought they put into making it their own. Still, when their wedding arrived I was swooning over everything from Katherine’s dress to their color scheme and the GORGEOUS floral centerpieces which I definitely need to mention that her mom put them together herself!!!!!! I could hardly believe what an incredible job she did, I honestly don’t know if I’ve ever seen more beautiful flower arrangements!
It’s not every day you come across people who exude elegance and style, while at the same time being extremely fun, warm and welcoming – but that’s Katherine and Andy. Katherine is so dazzling that she literally seems to give off her own light, especially when she’s wearing her radiant smile! Andy is extremely kind and thoughtful, and I loved the little details that he put his heart into for their wedding day, such as the hollow stemmed champagne glasses that he’s spent years collecting which their bridal party used to cheers the champagne Katherine & Andy brought on their limo bus. Side note: this champagne bottle was HUGE!!! You’ll see it in the photos below! Every little moment and detail was so special in itself, from the beaming smiles on Katherine & Andy’s faces after they were pronounced husband and wife, through to the heartfelt speeches, to the spectacular sunset from the Strathallan’s rooftop, to every cheers, smile, laugh, and dance move shared as the night went on. It was most definitely a celebration to be remembered!
