This wedding was such a special one! Alex & Mike grew up in the Finger Lakes and they’ve been together ever since their junior year of high school! They’ve embarked on all sorts of journeys together since then, including a big move down south, first to South Carolina, and then onto Orlando, FL! They wanted to return to the place where they grew up (AND where Mike proposed!) to tie the knot in the beauty of the Finger Lakes region, and chose Twin Silos Barn as their venue. It’s a really neat rustic barn venue surrounded by greenery and with plenty of outdoor space for lawn games, etc. and back lawn that makes for a perfect ceremony site!
I started off the day at the nearby Reed Homestead where Alex and her bridesmaids got ready, and was blown away by this gorgeous old brick home built in 1803 that has been impeccably designed and decorated! Such a perfect spot for the getting-ready photos! Once Alex was ready and in her GORGEOUS wedding dress (those lace sleeves!!!) I took some photos of her and her bridesmaids and family outside of the homestead before heading over to Twin Silos to meet up with Mike and photograph him with his groomsmen! These two both had the most joyful, carefree vibe and I just loved how happy and relaxed they both seemed, each thrilled to shortly be marrying the love of their life!
They said their I do’s in the summer sunshine and the ceremony was really sweet, but I’d say my favorite part was when Mike dipped Alex (impressively low I might add) for their first kiss as husband and wife! The reception that followed was such a fun party and I loved being able to sneak Alex and Mike outside for a little while to capture the newlyweds at golden hour (my FAVORITE time to photograph couples)! It was most certainly a day to remember and I’m so glad I got to document it for these two! Enjoy a handful of my favorites here!
