the lodge at welch allyn, skaneateles wedding: stephanie + kevin

Winter weddings have arrived!! Okay so I guess it’s not technically winter yet, but in my head winter starts December 1st and I think we can all agree that it certainly feels like winter outside! So glad that I kicked off the handful of “winter weddings” I’ll be photographing this season with Stephanie and Kevin’s big day! These two are great and I’ve been so excited about shooting this wedding ever since I first met them. They said they’re I do’s at St. Mary’s church in Waterloo, NY where Stephanie grew up, and then we headed to Skaneateles for their reception.  We made a stop on the way right in downtown Skaneateles along the lake for photos of the two of them and their bridal party! I absolutely love the town of Skaneateles so I was thrilled that the weather permitted us to spend some time outside, and I was super impressed with everyone’s willingness to be out in the cold! It was about 30 degrees out and Stephanie didn’t even seem chilly in her wedding dress – a gorgeous strapless gown from Stella’s Bridal!

Our next stop was the reception venue, The Lodge at Welch Allyn, which is just a few miles from the lake. This was my first time at the Lodge, and I was really excited to check it out as I’d heard great things. It was AMAZING! A rustic and elegant lodge, with floor to ceiling windows (through which guests later got to watch a surprise fireworks show) that overlook a small pond. The interior was decorated beautifully with garlands and white Christmas lights, and the flower arrangements from Sinicropi Florists were stunning.   It was a beautiful day in every way and I’m so excited to share some of my favorites!  A big thank you to Stephanie and Kevin for choosing me to capture your wedding day, it was such a pleasure to get to know you and photograph this day for you.
