crispin hill finger lakes wedding: melissa + oscar
I knew pretty much immediately upon meeting Melissa and Oscar that they were going to be one of my favorite couples ever. They are both so genuinely kind, warm, and easy to chat with, and they have an incredible chemistry and are constantly making each other laugh. It was SO much fun to photograph their adorable dynamic!
Their wedding was in the Finger Lakes at Crispin Hill, which might be my new favorite venue! It’s just a few miles outside of Penn Yann and overlooks Keuka Lake! There’s a farmhouse on the property which has been remodeled to basically be my dream home. There are tons of windows throughout which is fantastic for a natural light lover like myself, and also gives you a beautiful view of the lake from pretty much any room you enter! I can’t imagine a more beautiful place for a bride to get ready for her wedding!
Oscar & Melissa shared their First Look on a shaded path on the property, and I’m not even going to describe it because Oscar’s face in the photos below says it all. We did a lot of the bridal party and family photos in the same area (on a bright sunny day like there’s shade is your friend!) and I love how they turned out.
The ceremony site at Crispin Hill takes full advantage of the gorgeous view of Keuka Lake, so Melissa and Oscar said their I do’s surrounded by their loved ones, overlooking the water. It was a truly special ceremony for a truly special couple. Their officiant talked a bit about the special chemistry these two have and it just rang so true. Anyone who is graced with the presence of these two can see how perfect they are for each other!
Their cocktail hour and reception followed, all surrounding the venue’s main event spaces - the huge red barn which houses the dance floor, and the connecting tent, elegantly lined with gorgeous wood farm tables and chairs. The flowers and decor took this already beautiful space to another level, definitely make sure to take a look at those photos below!
The joyful and happy vibe of this wedding day continued through the reception. The toasts were particularly memorable - Oscar’s brother and best man had everyone bouncing back in forth from laughter to tears, and Melissa’s sister and maid of honor’s speech was so moving that even I couldn’t hold back the tears! After dinner we were able to sneak away for a few minutes to capture the newlyweds with the beautiful golden hour light before the dance floor opened up! I am realizing how incredibly long this blog intro has gotten so I’ll let the photos tell the rest of the story - enjoy!
