Another incredible wedding in the books! Carolyn & Andrew share a lifelong love of sports, which is ultimately what lead them to meet. After both playing throughout childhood and college, neither could quite give up the need to compete afterwards, so they both played in bar league sports here in Buffalo. They ended up on the same flag football team and were teammates for a while before they really got to know each other, but once they did the connection was undeniable! It wasn’t long before they were dating, and then knew they wanted to spend the rest of their lives together.

I started the day off at Carolyn’s parents house where she got ready with her family and bridesmaids, and I could tell right away what a fun group it was! Once Carolyn was ready (and looking FABULOUS) we headed into downtown Buffalo to meet Andrew at Canalside for their First Look. My second photographer had been with Andrew and the guys while they got ready at the Lofts on Pearl, and it was just a short walk for them to the water where we had Andrew wait with his back turned as his bride-to-be approached him. This is always one of my favorite moments of any wedding day - it’s such an emotional and joyful moment!

Afterward we went to the area around Albright Knox and Hoyt Lake in Delaware Park for more photos of the two of them and their bridal party before the ceremony. This was another one of several weddings I’ve had this spring where a rainy forecast turned into a beautiful day! I honestly don’t know how we keep getting so lucky but I am SO thankful! Their ceremony was nearby at Christ the King Chapel at Canisius College, and it was extra special since the priest had actually married Carolyn’s parents and several other couples in their family!

Their reception was downtown at Buffalo Riverworks which is a really cool and unique space for a wedding! It’s totally different from any venue I’ve shot at before. After kicking the reception off with a really sweet first dance, parent dances, and incredible toasts that brought about lots of laughs and tears, it was time for open dancing! People came from far and wide to celebrate with Carolyn and Andrew, and everyone came ready to party! It was an unforgettable evening in every way and I’m honored that Carolyn and Andrew trusted me to photograph it. Here’s a handful of favorites from their day, enjoy!
