syracuse marriott downtown wedding: kim + ryan
What truly makes a wedding unforgettable isn’t the shiny decor, the beautiful scenery, the gorgeous flowers, or even the bride in her wedding dress. It’s the people. It’s the love. It’s when a couple is clearly so over-the-moon happy to have found each other and to be entering this next phase of life together, that their joy is contagious. Everyone there feels it. You literally can’t be unhappy at a wedding like this. And it’s not just the bride and groom’s love that makes it unforgettable, but the love that their families and friends have for them. It’s the power of being surrounded by people who are rooting for you, who support you, who want nothing but the absolute best for you. Kim + Ryan’s wedding was a spectacular day for all of the above reasons. Don’t get me wrong, they also chose stunning venues, gorgeous decor, and they looked INCREDIBLE, but you could just tell that they never for one moment forgot what the day was really about.
Kim + Ryan tied the knot at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in downtown Syracuse, which is one of the most beautiful churches I’ve ever been in! I loved going back and forth between photographing wide shots to showcase the gorgeous interior, and then honing in on Kim + Ryan’s faces as they beamed at each other. Once the ceremony had ended and these two were officially pronounced husband and wife, we took advantage of the church’s beauty for some photograph of the newlyweds with their families and bridal party. Then we headed to the nearby Franklin Square Park for more photos of Kim + Ryan and their crew! I loved how completely willing this entire group was to stand in the middle of the street when I thought it would make for a neat shot!
Time at the park flew by, and soon it was time to head to the Marriott Syracuse Downtown for their reception! Everything was perfect, from their first dance, speeches, and parent dances, to the dance party that followed! One of my favorite parts was right before it was time for me to head out, when Kim’s grandparents shared a teary-eyed dance to what I believe was their own wedding song, as the rest of the guests circled around them, hands behind each other’s backs, swaying as everyone took in this special moment together. Seriously - this wedding really pulled on my heartstrings!! I’m so thankful I got to photograph it and hope you all enjoy this glimpse into Kim + Ryan’s big day!
