desmond hotel albany wedding photography: lauren & mike
I always have a hard time writing these blog post introductions because I can never quite find the right words to sum up a day that’s so incredibly special. Lauren & Mike’s was no exception – I loved every second of photographing their wedding day from the moment Lauren greeted me at the front door of her parent’s home with the biggest smile on her face! I didn’t get to meet these two in person beforehand due to being in different cities, but I got such great vibes from them each time we spoke on the phone and I knew it was going to be a good fit. Despite having a great feeling about this day beforehand, it was even better than I imagined! Lauren & Mike are one of the nicest couples I’ve ever had the pleasure to photograph; they’re easy-going, fun, and radiated joy and love the entire day!
My second photographer hung out with Mike and his groomsmen at the Desmond Hotel in Albany while I photographed Lauren & the girls getting ready at her family home. It was a beautiful house with big windows and natural light – everything I hope for when I step into a getting-ready location! Despite the weather the week leading up to Lauren & Mike’s day being TERRIBLE, they somehow ended up with a beautiful sunny day with blue skies! It was pretty chilly, but that’s still some of the best weather you can hope for in early April in central New York!
Their ceremony was at All Saint's on the Hudson Church in Mechanicville and it was a gorgeous church both inside and out. The priest gave a very special and personal ceremony and I loved capturing all of the smiles between Lauren & Mike while they became husband and wife! Afterward we captured a few photos at the church before making our way to the Desmond Hotel for the rest of the evening! We got there just in time to capture a few sunset photos of the two of them before the party got started! After a very impressive choreographed first dance and some truly great speeches (the father of the bride even had me crying!!) the dance floor was packed all night long. It was an epic party to finish an epic day, and I’m so thankful I got to photograph everything for Lauren & Mike! Here’s a collection of my favorite images from the day – enjoy!
