oneonta, ny wedding: hannah + pj

This wedding is VERY different from most that you see on my blog, because I wasn’t technically the photographer! The gorgeous couple you see in these photos are some of our closest friends, and Hannah has been one of my favorite people in the world ever since we first met during our freshman year of college at Geneseo (how was that almost 10 years ago?!). I actually remember one of our first conversations her telling me all about her high school sweetheart, Pj! They’re one of those couples that you just know are meant to be, and I was over the moon excited for them when they got engaged and ECSTATIC when she asked me to be a bridesmaid! Also a small part of me (ok maybe a huge and loud part) was like I NEED TO TAKE PHOTOS OF YOU THOUGH. I ended up taking their engagement photos and some of their wedding day - I was getting ready in the morning with her anyway so I took some detail shots and getting ready photos, and then their first look and portraits of the two of them! I looked absolutely ridiculous in my bridesmaids dress and my spider holster (which is basically a bulky utility belt that allows me to carry two cameras at once) and I had to tie my dress in a knot around my knees so I could move around easily on the wet grass. Really wish I had a photo of that to share haha. 

Their first look was in the courtyard of the hotel where they got ready (the Clarion in Oneonta, NY) and the face Pj made when he first saw Hannah absolutely melts my heart!  The rest of their portraits happened a limo ride away at PJ’s grandparent’s lake house. This is a beautiful spot and it means a lot to them so it was wonderful that we got to go there for photos, and there was this ethereal looking mist coming up off of the water that was absolutely beautiful! Then I put my cameras away for the day and let Hannah’s family friend take over, and started a new love affair with Malibu Coconut Rum (how is it so good really though?) and proceeded to have one of the best days of my life. This was my first time being IN a wedding as an adult (aside from that one time I was the bride) and it was SO MUCH FUN. Of course at some points later in the day it pained me to not have my camera on hand, but mostly it was just wonderful to live in the moment and enjoy every second of celebrating these two wonderful humans entering a new chapter together. CONGRATULATIONS AGAIN HANNAH & PJ - LOVE YOU SO MUCH!
