Sarah and Jonah were connected by a mutual friend, and they went from texting back and forth, to the always-awkward first date, to realizing that they had found something really special!
A few years later, on Thanksgiving morning, they ran the Turkey Trot. Sarah was surprised that Jonah was going to participate, since he wasn’t the biggest fan of running, but soon after they started she figured out why. Still running, he pulled out a ring. Sarah screamed, ran after him and beamed as she put out her hand and he placed the ring on her finger. It was an obvious YES.
It didn’t feel like your typical December in Buffalo on the warm and sunny morning of Sarah and Jonah’s wedding. The season was apparent at Sarah's father's house though, which was beautifully decorated with multiple Christmas trees, wreaths, garland, and ornaments at every turn! It was the perfect setting for Sarah to get ready with her bridesmaids and her three adorable flower girls. The next stop was the Albright-Knox art gallery to take advantage of the weather with some outdoor photos, followed by Asbury Hall for the ceremony and reception. The venue, also known as “Babeville” is an old church that was renovated to become a beautiful location for concerts and events like Sarah & Jonah’s. It was the perfect setting for their wedding ceremony and reception!
This was a truly spectacular wedding and it was especially fun for me to photograph because Sarah is family! I’ve known her since we were little, and it was wonderful to see the beautiful, intelligent, and fun woman she has become tie the knot with this man who compliments her perfectly - and is clearly head over heels for her. Lots of people that I love were present, and I had a great time capturing embarrassing photos of my family on the dance floor (which fortunately for them I didn’t include in this post).
Sarah & Jonah – I hope your honeymoon was the trip of a lifetime! Thank you so much for letting me document your big day and celebrate with you! Love and happiness to you both!
