These two make each other completely light up, and there never seems to be a dull moment between them. They’re constantly making each other smile and laugh, and to sum it up; it’s freaking adorable and so refreshing to be around! I had so much fun capturing their chemistry during their engagement session earlier this month! We had a perfect night in Rochester, and we started off surrounded by the greenery at Highland Park before switching up the scenery and heading to the water at Durand Eastman for some photos on the beach at sunset. I could not be more excited to photograph them tie the knot soon!! Love love love my wonderful clients!

Heidi & Jack are exactly the type of couple that I love "working" with, but I can hardly call it work when my clients are so much fun to be around! I remember meeting Heidi a few years ago when she was a bridesmaid for another favorite client of mine, and she said someday she’d be reaching out to me about her own wedding! She was so sweet and I had my fingers crossed that someday I’d hear from her, and earlier this year I did!
For Heidi & Jack, it all started over $.25 chicken wings. They were both out at wing night when they were introduced by a mutual friend, and needless to say, they hit it off! One thing led to another, and over the next 7.5 years they started to build a life together, living in various cities and adopting two dogs who are maybe the most picture-perfect animals I have ever seen in my life!!
I loved hearing Jack describe how he found the perfect place to propose to Heidi while they were on vacation in Hawaii this fall and hiking with friends, but he wanted it to just be the two of him so he persuaded her to go back on the same hike later in their trip. They got stuck in heavy traffic on their way there for the second time, and Heidi was a little less than enthused with the hassle, it was getting late and she wasn’t quite sure why they needed to repeat this hike! Any lack of enthusiasm she may have been feeling melted away and turned to pure joy when Jack asked her to marry him! I love picturing them on the hike back, newly engaged, half skipping half running with huge grins on their faces thinking about all the wonderful things ahead of them!
Here are a few of my favorite images from their engagement session at Old Fort Niagara and around Youngstown! Enjoy!
Ashley & Matt's wedding isn't until next winter, but I'm already counting down the days until I get to photograph these two again! They met in high school and started dating over seven years ago, and have been inseparable ever since!
I checked the forecast the week of their engagement session, and again the morning of, and was excited that the weather was supposed to be perfect! I got in my car that afternoon to head into the city to meet them, and was obviously surprised that when I was en route it started POURING. Like, really. It was a complete torrential downpour. I never leave my house without six giant white umbrellas in my trunk for photos in the rain, so I knew we'd be okay no matter what, but obviously getting drenched is not really ideal for an engagement session. Luckily, this surprise rain storm left as quickly as it came, and we were able to do the whole session outside as planned (and dry for that matter). We started off at the George Eastman House gardens, took a few photos in downtown Rochester, then headed to Durand Eastman Beach for a total change of scenery! It was a really fun shoot and I LOVE all of these locations and this couple!! Here are some of my favorite images from the session!
I loved everything about Alyssa and Corey’s engagement session, from their outfits, to the locations, to the spectacular sunset at the end of the night! I try to avoid shooting at the same locations too frequently because I find that I’m more inspired and creative in new places, but there are some spots that I can’t help returning to! I just love the old barns along the canal in Pittsford where we started off this session, and I love shooting at the beach at Durand Eastman Park even more! It seems like every time I’m there it feels totally different because the light and colors of the sunset are always unique. The sunset for Alyssa and Corey’s session was one of a kind – the sky was bright and colorful and it was absolutely perfect for their photos. These two have great style and they’re a ton of fun, and I am SO excited for their wedding next year!
Enjoy the photos!
Jordan and Travis looked like they just walked out of a catalog when they showed up for their engagement session, and I could not have been more thrilled when I saw their outfits! We met up at Turning Point Park in Rochester on a cool summer night (which was SUCH a nice change from all the hot weather we’d been having here)! Our second stop was the beach at Durand Eastman Park and it was a beautiful night for photos on the water. These two are one of the sweetest couples I’ve had the pleasure to meet, not to mention that they’re absolutely gorgeous people (with impeccable style!!)! It was so hard to narrow down images for this blog from their session because there were just so many photos that I LOVE, but here are a few of my favorite photos!
There are a million reasons why I love what I do, and a lot of them were part of this engagement session! Meeting and talking with great people while exploring different areas of Rochester, and letting myself be inspired by the light and scenery as we move along is my favorite way to spend an evening! Andrea and Billy were so fun to work with and we were able to capture a wide variety of images and settings as we strolled around the area by the canal in Pittsford, and then made our way up to the shore of Lake Ontario where we caught a vibrant sky as the sun set over the water – it was a perfect night!
Enjoy the photos!
Alexa & Tim couldn’t have asked for a more perfect evening for their engagement session! We started off at their apartment so we could capture some photos of the two of them where Tim proposed to Alexa. Our next stop was the beach at Durand Eastman, a favorite spot for them to come with their beautiful yellow lab Lucky (who I had a soft spot for since she looks just like the yellow lab I had growing up, also named Lucky)! The clear blue skies turned into a beautiful sunset and it was a perfect night to be on the water.
The connection between these two is clear, and it makes my job easier when a couple has as much fun together as Alexa and Tim! They’re both great and I can’t wait for their wedding!
