canfield casino + hall of springs saratoga wedding: kristen + chris
I’m going to be honest - I’m literally typing this with tears in my eyes! I wanted to share Kristen + Chris’s proposal story because it’s so good, so I went to their wedding website to make sure I had the details right and now I’m obviously weeping!!!
Kristen & Chris knew for a while before their engagement that they wanted to spend the rest of their lives together, but Chris still wanted to plan a dream proposal for Kristen. He spent months looking into jewelers, picking the ring, and planning out how he was going to pop the question. Eventually, he’d come up with the perfect plan. A spot with a gorgeous view, a solid plan for how to get Kristen there and dressed up but not suspecting anything, coordinated the schedules of dozens of friends and family from all over the place to make sure they could be there to surprise Kristen with a celebration afterwards, and meticulously planned with one of his best friends on exactly how and where Chris should kneel to make sure his buddy hiding in the bushes nearby would get the perfect shot of the proposal, NYC skyline in the background! A DREAM, right!?
On the March afternoon the day before he planned to propose, Chris went to the spot just to check that everything would go as planned, where he found a gigantic mound of snow that plows had dumped exactly where he had planned to get down on one knee and ask his best friend to marry him in less than 24 hours. Fear not, Chris’s superhero friends came to save the day! The next morning they all met there spot, shovels in hand, and shoveled the entire mountain of snow out of the way. To say these two have great friends is an understatement, and Chris was able to pull off the proposal he’d spent months planning. Obviously, Kristen said YESSS!!!
You clearly have an idea of what a wonderful and thoughtful guy Chris is from the effort and planning he put into making this so special for Kristen, so let me tell you more about Kristen - SHE IS AN ANGEL! She is SO genuinely kind, compassionate, fun, warm - beautiful inside & out! She lights up a room with her radiant smile and warmth and seems to bring joy to everyone she encounters! These two are best friends, they have so much fun together and they danced and laughed their way through their wedding, the smiles never leaving their faces. It was so much fun to photograph! They also have amazing style and planned an incredible day, renting not only one but TWO of my favorite Saratoga venues for their wedding. Their ceremony was in the ballroom at the Canfield Casino underneath it’s gorgeously unique ceiling, and the Casino is tucked right into Congress Park so we had all that gorgeous scenery to work with afterwards! Next we headed over to their reception venue, The Hall of Springs, to take advantage of the beautiful landscape and architecture there before it was time for the party to start! By all accounts, it was an unforgettable evening!
This blog post intro is getting a bit long, (I could throw out adjectives about how amazing these two and this day was for pages and pages) so I’ll let the photos tell the rest! I’ve shared some of my favorites below - enjoy!!
