schoen place rochester engagement session: skylar + greg

I had the HUGE honor of photographing the engagement session of one of my favorite couples in the whole world a few weeks ago; Skylar and Greg! Skylar is the whole package. She’s incredibly beautiful on the inside and outside. She a smart, kind, hilarious, fun, all-around wonderful human being and one of my very best friends. We were all living in Rochester a few years ago when Skylar + Greg’s relationship started off, so I got the behind-the-scenes scoops from Skylar as their story unfolded and a few dates turned quickly into being head-over-heels crazy about each other! After meeting Greg I could tell why they hit it off so effortlessly, he is a complete sweetheart and GEM of a human and they really are perfect for each other!

MUCH TO MY DISMAY, these two moved to Chicago where they now live (although I am so happy for them that they’re loving life there I would selfishly love them to move back to Rochester right this moment and be neighbors for the rest of forever). On the plus side, I now have a great reason to visit Chicago! Earlier this year, they made the trip back to Rochester for a weekend visit, and little did Skylar know, Greg was planning to propose! He popped the question at Schoen Place by the canal (they had their first date there as well!) and how he got her down by the water in the middle of Rochester’s frigid winter really shows how much he knows Skylar, he told her there was a mural/tribute to women’s rights that he wanted to show her! Obviosuly, she said YES! 

I am ecstatic to be part of their wedding this winter, and since I won’t be able to be their photographer as I’ll be a bridemaid (YAY!) I’m thrilled that I was able to take these engagement photos for them along the canal where they already had such wonderful memories! Here are a few of my favorite shots of these cuties!! Enjoy!
