rochester restaurant + warner castle engagement session: carrie & jason

Getting to know the couples that I work with makes me even better at photographing them, so right off the bat I ask them to share a little about themselves on my website’s inquiry form. I LOVE all the stories I get to hear! When Carrie wrote in hers that she and Jason met 1:50am during last call at a bar, I knew they were my type of people. That was proven true when we got together in person to chat about their photography, and it was as easy as talking with old friends. I have been so excited to photograph them ever since!

Carrie and Jason spend lots of date nights at the restaurant where they had their first date, the Winfield Grill in Rochester, so they figured that would be the perfect place to start off their engagement session. I wholeheartedly agreed as I love photographing couples in environments that are meaningful to them! I was loving life photographing them in the natural light from the Winfield’s floor-to-ceiling windows, and they seemed very content that their engagement session involved sipping on their favorite beverages!

Afterward we headed over to the area around Warner Castle at Highland Park for a change of scenery, and it was beautiful out! I don’t think any of us were expecting it to be 65 and sunny in mid-February here in Rochester, but I certainly couldn’t complain. I’m looking back on that day especially fondly now since we’re currently mid-blizzard here in Rochester and I’ve been snowed into my house for two days – cest la vie!

Needless to say, Carrie and Jason are an adorable and fun couple with excellent style (I want to steal Carries entire outfit) and I feel so lucky that I get to be their photographer! Cannot wait for their big day later this year!
