Genes Country Village & Museum Wedding Photography

Back when Andrea and Josh were both college students and strangers to each other, Andrea and her friend went to visit another friend at Alfred University. They were at a party there when Andrea pointed out the very handsome man across the room who she just had to meet. For her, it was love at first sight. Josh might not remember this first encounter quite as well, (it was Saturday night and he was at a college party – what can you expect!?) but he most definitely fell head over heels in love with Andrea after they got to know each other, and they’ve never looked back.

It feels like forever since Andrea and I first got together for a coffee to talk about her wedding photography, but I remember clicking with her right away and thinking she was just the sweetest girl ever! I’ve been SO excited for her and Josh’s wedding ever since, especially after their engagement session when I got to meet him and get to know them a bit better. They told me all about their venue – the Genesee Country Village & Museum, and I couldn’t wait to check this place out! I hadn’t heard of it before, but I have a feeling that most kids who grew up around here probably went there on a few elementary school field trips. It’s a “living history museum” comprised of a bunch of authentic historical buildings from the 19th century, gardens, etc. and aside from being super interesting and educational, this place is also a wedding photographer’s cloud nine. SO many charming little buildings, old farm houses, barns, white picket fences, cobblestone roads, I could go on and on. I am DYING to shoot a wedding here again or an engagement session (hint hint to future clients haha).

I had so much fun photographing these two and their spectacular wedding day! They planned such a perfect day with so many neat little touches – everything from their invitations to the décor in the barn was breathtaking! Most breathtaking of all however was this couple! They are SO gorgeous, not to mention kind, fun, sweet, and most definitely the lives of the party! They are also troopers doing photos outdoors because let me tell you it was HOT out! Who would’ve thought the warmest wedding I’d shoot this year would be late September? That’s Western NY for you I though! It didn’t stop this from being one of my absolute favorite weddings ever!
