Jamie & Dylan tied the knot a few Saturdays ago at Sonnenberg Gardens and Mansion State Historic Park in Canandaigua NY, and I can’t imagine a more picture-perfect location for a wedding ceremony! Everywhere you look there’s something beautiful to see, from the mansion itself to the acres of gardens, each with their own distinct character. Their ceremony was right between the mansion and the flower-filled Italian Garden behind it – SUCH a beautiful location! After the ceremony we tried our best to take advantage of the gorgeous scenery there for photos, but it would’ve taken all weekend to hit all the spots there! Next we made a stop at the pier in Canandaigua for some photos with the boat houses there which are SO neat – there are several rows of rustic boathouses stretching out over the water, many painted with vibrant colors and dating back about 100 years. I love them.
Next it was time for the last stop of the day, Canandaigua Country Club for the reception! The party was held in a huge tent overlooking the lake, and it was another perfectly picturesque location. As the reception got started, I felt like every single thing that happened was unforgettable! It started with how the newlyweds entered the room – with Dylan dressed in a gorilla costume and Jamie thrown over his shoulder, and went on through the maid of honor and a bridesmaid singing a song about Jamie & Dylan to the tune of ‘Party in the USA‘ that had everyone laughing hysterically. It seemed like it would be impossible for the best man’s speech to top it, until he proceeded to give one of the most genuine, heartfelt, emotional, and hilarious speeches that I’ve ever heard (and I’ve heard a LOT). So this party is obviously already off to a great start when it’s time for Jamie & Dylan’s first dance, but they took it to another level with their AMAZING choreographed dance. It was seriously one of my all-time favorite wedding moments and I’m patiently waiting for a video to go out and it to go viral.
H&H Entertainment did a fantastic job behind the DJ booth and the dance floor was packed when I stole Jamie & Dylan away for some sunset portraits on the water. I’m always so excited when circumstances allow the bride and groom to sneak away for a few minutes for this purpose – you just cannot beat the evening light!
This wedding was so fantastic and I want to say a huge thank you to Jamie & Dylan for trusting me to capture it for them, and for being so much fun to work with!
Enjoy the photos!
