One afternoon last summer Stacey got in the car with her boyfriend Rob, believing they were heading to Denver for the weekend to visit his family. Stacey realized they weren’t going in the right direction to the airport shortly before they pulled up to a bar. Not just any bar however, but the place where Rob first confessed his feelings for Stacey to her 4 and a half years earlier. Where they went from being coworkers and good friends, to much more.
He lead her to where they first kissed on that night years before, and popped THE question. (Obviously, she said yes!) You’re probably already thinking AWWW that’s the cutest proposal story right?! I was too, but it’s not over yet! Stacey always said she wanted to experience NYC as a tourist, so Rob planned a special evening for them to do just that. Adorable right!? IT’S STILL NOT OVER. The next day Rob told Stacey they were heading out of town, and her mind excitedly raced through the possibilities the whole drive. They ended up in a town in Vermont they know and love from years of trips there with Rob’s family. He knew Stacey had always wanted her parents to see it as well, and she’s surprised again to find both of their families waiting for them for dinner and drinks! They spent the rest of the weekend celebrating their engagement with each other and their families.
I can’t imagine the joy they both must’ve felt that weekend as I’m grinning from ear to ear just writing this and I’ve only met them twice! That being said, it was enough to for me to see that they are wonderful people who make a great couple. I’m so glad I made the trip down to NYC to capture this chapter of their lives in the city where they live, and I’m even more excited to photograph their wedding here in Rochester later this year!
Enjoy the photos!
