When I first met Breanna and Collin I knew right off the bat how much I wanted to be their photographer! They seemed genuine, kind, and down to earth, and I really enjoyed talking with them. They told me all about how Collin had proposed to Breanna in a beautiful place called Maymont down in Richmond VA, and that they loved Richmond so much that they were planning to move there soon after our meeting (they’re now officially Richmond residents!). Their wedding will be here in Rochester later this year, but obviously Richmond also holds a special place in their hearts so they were hoping to have their engagement photos done down there. I was really excited about the idea and I’m SO glad we were able to make it work!
The way they first described Maymont to me it sounded like it was out of a fairy tale, and they weren’t exaggerating! I almost died of happiness when I saw this place. It is BEAUTIFUL. It’s a 19th century mansion surrounded by 100 acres of greenery, flower gardens, wildlife, gazebos, waterfalls, adorable little pedestrian bridges, etc. etc. Collin and Breanna were so much fun to photograph; they really let their guard down, which made their personalities and love for each other shine! Engagement sessions are all the better when the location holds some special meaning for the couple, so it was amazing that we were able to capture some photos of Breanna and Collin in the exact spot where he had proposed, not to mention that our session happened to be exactly six months from the day that Breanna said yes!
We finished the session at another favorite spot of theirs, Libby Hill Park, where we had a spectacular view of the sun setting over Richmond! These locations were wonderful, but Breanna and Collin were what really made this session so great! I absolutely love working with them and cannot wait for their wedding this fall!
Enjoy the photos!
