Webster Arboretum Wedding: Casey & Ricky

It’s not a surprise that every couple I’ve had the pleasure to work with has been extremely happy on their wedding day, but I think Casey and Ricky surpassed them all as far as joy goes.  I don’t think either of them could’ve stopped smiling even if they tried.  It’s both refreshing and inspiring to spend time with people with such positive attitudes, that are clearly very much in love and appreciate each other as much as Casey and Ricky.

Both the ceremony and reception took place at the Webster Arboretum.  It was my first time shooting at this venue and I hope I’ll get to do more weddings there in the future.  I loved the picturesque scenery – lots of trees, flowers, a pond, gazebos, wooden arches, wooden bridges over streams and little waterfalls.  It was a lot of fun to take advantage of the landscape while shooting, especially since it was a gorgeous day outside without a cloud in sight.  Perfect weather for an outdoor ceremony, which was held around a beautifully decorated gazebo.  I loved all of the decorations in the tent where the reception was held too – everything tied together perfectly!

Being the emotional person that I am, there are typically multiple moments each wedding day that bring tears to my eyes.  One such instance was during the anniversary dance when the last couple on the floor with Casey and Ricky were Casey’s grandparents, who are soon celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary.  When Jeff, the DJ (from Whirlin Disc) asked them their secret, they said “Marry your best friend,” and I think that’s exactly what Casey and Ricky did.

Casey and Ricky, you are a remarkable couple and I’m so thankful that I got to be a part of your special day.  Your joy and positivity were contagious, and it was an absolute pleasure to be your photographer! I hope you love the photos and that they bring back the memories of this perfect day for years to come!
