wintergarden rochester wedding: Ashley & AJ
I hope I don’t sound like a broken record mentioning how the Covid-19 pandemic has thrown a wrench in each recent couple’s wedding plans, but I just can’t not acknowledge the emotional rollercoaster these couples have been through! I am so impressed by how they’ve rolled with the punches, constantly adapting to and adjusting for the continuous changes in rules and regulations, as well as the general state of the world!
Ashley and AJ opted to push things back a year from their original date to make things safer for their guests, so by the time this day arrived it felt like it had been forever since we originally met! However, you don’t have to know these two well for them to instantly feel like old friends. AJ’s calm and easy-going demeaner and Ashley’s infectious smile and laughter makes them a joy to be around, and their happiness set the tone for their celebration at the Wintergarden in downtown Rochester. I’m a big fan of this venue, and I was especially glad they chose it when the forecast showed non-stop rain for the day of. The forecast doesn’t always mean much in Western New York, but it did end up mostly accurate in this case. Thankfully, the massive tree-lined glass atrium is full of natural light and gives off elegant garden vibes no matter what the weather is doing outside! We were able to do the majority of their photos indoors, and then we lucked out when it cleared up at sunset. Kudos to these two for scaling to the top of a nearby parking garage with me to get some photos with the post-storm sky and Rochester skyline! Here are a handful of my favorite images from the day – enjoy!
