harro east ballroom wedding: emily + tim

Emily & Tim met almost a decade ago at a place where many enduring relationships have gotten their start (including me and my husband’s!); SUNY Geneseo. Fate put them in the same freshman dorm hall, and they started off as friends. It actually wasn’t until after college that they found themselves making excuses to attend events that they knew the other would be at. Soon after, their friendship turned into a relationship, which a few weeks ago turned into a marriage!

I arrived to Emily’s room at the Strathallan Hotel the morning of her and Tim’s big day to find her surrounded by girlfriends as they got their hair and makeup done to perfection! As always, I started photographing Emily’s dress, shoes, and jewelry and fell in love with all of it! Her mom and sister helped her into her dress, and she looked absolutely flawless in it! I was SO excited for Tim to see her during their First Look.

We thought that the Strathallan’s rooftop patio overlooking Rochester would be the perfect place for that, and there couldn’t have been a better backdrop for the emotional moments that unfolded next as Emily & Tim first saw each other! Witnessing and capturing the pure joy and emotion on their faces was definitely one of my favorite parts of this incredible day. We spent a little more time up there taking advantage of the view, and then made our way over to Cobb’s Hill Reservoir for photos with their bridal party, before heading to the Christ Church for their ceremony. This downtown Rochester church is truly beautiful, with its classical architecture, grand archways, and colorful stained glass windows! I loved capturing Emily & Tim’s emotional I do’s as they were pronounced husband and wife!

The day just kept getting better and better, and I knew that the reception at the Harro East Ballroom was going to be an incredible party! It was VERY clear to me throughout the day that Emily & Tim love their friends and family very much, and it became even more obvious at the reception. The smiles never left their faces as they celebrated and danced the night away with their loved ones.
