Southwest USA Roadtrip Honeymoon Part II

Happy Friday everybody! I’m kicking off this weekend sharing some of my favorite images from the second half of our honeymoon. If you didn’t get a chance to check out the blog post from the first half, my husband (ahhHHHHH) and I decided to fly down to the Southwestern USA for our honeymoon, rent a car, and explore! We had a general itinerary that we stuck to for the first half of our trip, but we ended up improvising a bit at the end.

This post starts off on our first morning in Page, AZ. We were supposed to be in Zion National Park, but I had miscalculated things and we learned we were WAY further away from there than we thought when we got on the road the night before (my bad), so we drove to Page instead!  There are a few incredible sights within 10 minutes of this little city that I’d been dying to see, so it was the perfect place to spend a night! After a beautiful sunrise there, we made our way to the Horseshoe Bend to check it out! I’d seen a thousand photos of this place from other wedding photographers on Instagram (super jealous of all of them and would LOVE to photograph a session or elopement there hint hint), but seeing it in person was beyond incredible. NATURE IS GREAT. Afterward, we headed over to take a tour of Antelope Canyon and I just about died of excitement when we got inside (well outside still, but yeah).  I really can’t describe this place without using every positive adjective in my vocabulary so I’ll just let the photos do the talking.

Then, we drove out to Zion National Park and we got to drive through it to get to our hotel in Springdale, which is basically tucked right into park and I would kind of like to move there.  Zion was incredible, totally different from everything we’d seen so far! I probably made Michael pull over about 30 times between the entrance to the park and getting to our hotel. The next morning we made our way back into the park and did a few different hikes, which were each really spectacular. You could spend weeks just exploring here, and I’ll definitely go back someday!

Our next stop was totally unplanned, but we realized we were pretty close to Vegas and both felt like we could use a break from hiking every day, so we thought why not!? We drove in, dropped off our rental car, and VEGAS BABY.  I don’t have a lot of pictures from there because it’s kind of weird to bring a DSLR to lay by a pool all day or to the black jack tables (and what happens in Vegas stays there right!?) but we had an incredible time!

We booked a flight from there to Boulder, CO for our last stop and really loved everything about it, from the incredible mountain scenery to the Pearl St. Mall area which was packed with neat shops and amazing restaurants – we had some of the best food of the trip here!  Hard to say which stop was my favorite because they were all so different and wonderful in their own way! Hope you enjoy the photos!
