belhurst castle wedding: katie + dan

It was another gorgeous, sunny (and HOT) day in the Finger Lakes for Katie and Dan’s wedding a few Saturdays ago.  Their ceremony was at St. Stephen’s church in Geneva, followed by their reception at Belhurst Castle. As I’ve mentioned before on my blog, I LOVE Belhurst! It’s a beautiful 1800’s stone castle overlooking Seneca Lake.  Katie got ready with her bridesmaids in one of the Castle’s suites, which was full of character; intricate woodwork, antique furnishings, beautiful stained glass windows, etc! I loved photographing her bridal details and candids of the girls getting ready in such a unique space! The ceremony was at a nearby church, and the priest was actually a good friend of Dan’s family, which made it particularly special. Afterward we made a quick stop at Ventosa Vineyards for some photos of Katie and Dan, and then headed over to Belhurst for more photos on the water. Katie and Dan were all smiles after saying their I do’s and they are such kind, sweet people that it was impossible for me to not also have a huge smile on my face while taking pictures. I don't know how I keep lucking out with such genuinely nice, thoughtful, caring clients but I am so thankful for them all!  Katie and Dan also clearly know how to have a good time - they were the life of the party and the reception was so much fun! Dan from H&H Entertainment killed it behind the DJ booth, I don’t know if I’ve ever seen such a packed dance floor!
