university of rochester engagement session: katie + ryan

I’ve really lucked out this year so far when it comes to weather (knock on wood!!)! I don’t remember rain interfering too much with a single wedding or engagement session this season, which is super rare for Rochester!  The only time I looked at the weather forecast before an engagement shoot and it was TERRIBLE, was this session.  Typically, I’d have rescheduled, but Katie and Ryan live out of town and were just here for a quick visit, so there wasn’t a possibility of moving the shoot.  This really wasn’t a huge deal at all, I was actually kind of excited to do something different and shoot engagement photos indoors (although natural light outside is definitely my favorite)! It turns out that wasn’t necessary. It cleared up right before we were due to start, then the rain held out for the entire session and started back up again right as we were finishing up!  We ended up completely forgetting about the rain plan we had come up with and strolling around the University of Rochester’s campus (which is gorgeous!) for the majority of their shoot, before heading to East Ave downtown for a change of scenery. 

My favorite part of this session was definitely getting to know Katie and Ryan. They were constantly cracking each other up, and they’re just so much fun to be around that I can’t even begin to imagine what a good time their wedding will be! I don’t think I’ll ever get over all the amazing clients I get to work with – so extremely thankful for all of them!
