This was such a great wedding! Thank you to Gwen and Steve for your thoughtfulness — sitting at the head table no less! — that made me feel so welcome on your wedding day.
Shooting a wedding with a personal connection is really special. Gwen’s little sister Gill, the maid of honor, is my best friend and one of my very favorite people on Earth. I’ve also gotten to know their parents, and I think it would be next to impossible to find two nicer people. Please notice the photo later in this post of their adorable family group hug… awwwwwww. Steve’s family turned out to be just as great, and I’m really glad I got to see these two families unite into one.
Gwen and Steve were absolutely wonderful and placed a lot of emphasis not only on how much they value and appreciate each other, but also every single person they invited to celebrate with them. This filled the day with a positive energy that radiated into the photographs. They made lots of particularly meaningful choices when planning their wedding day, like having a close family friend officiate their ceremony. Gwen’s dress was her mother’s, and most of her jewelry was passed down by family as well. The flowers by Genesee Valley Florist were gorgeous and fit with all of the other details perfectly. Sweet Briar in Geneseo is a beautiful venue, and the coordinator Will has a skill for making everyone feel at ease – it’s obvious he’s great at what he does. The food from DiPane Catering was phenomenal, as was the beautiful cake made by Lori’s Luscious Layers. DJ Jeff from Whirlin Disc always does a great job keeping everyone on the dance floor, which was completely packed throughout the reception.
