October 17th was the perfect day for a fall wedding, with blue skies, crisp air and colorful foliage. From getting ready for the big day at Brittany’s parents’ house, to the Webster Park for photos with the beautiful trees, then to the Rochester Event Barn for the ceremony and reception, everything about Brittany and Brett’s wedding day was simply fantastic. Best of all was this wonderful couple, surrounded by their friends and family. The first words that came to mind when writing this blog was “one big happy family,” because that’s how the wedding seemed to me. That's not surprising, considering the family connections that would lead to Brittany and Brett’s love story were in place years before they were ever born. When their grandfathers were young, they were best friends. When one of them developed polio at only 17 years old, it was the other one, sneaking into his hospital room every night to help him learn how to walk again, that got him through it. Fast forward a bit and the families were still intertwined, with Brett’s mother and Brittany’s aunt as best friends. It was on a trip to visit her aunt that Brittany first met Brett, and now over six years later, they have become husband and wife! Instead of two families becoming one, the wedding seemed more like the celebration of an already big happy family!
